Carols and Lessons is a traditional Anglican form of worship which celebrates the coming of our Lord into the world at the first Christmas. Nine lessons (readings) begin with God’s promise to Abraham, proceed through the prophecies made down the ages of the coming of the Saviour, and then tell of the great events at the time of the birth of Jesus. And this is the occasion for celebrating in church by singing ten of the wonderful carols written over the centuries.
