Our Children’s Ministry offers an engaging range of ministries for babies through to Year 6 at school. Our hearts desire is that children of our church family and beyond know that God the Creator loves them and that there is meaning and purpose to life through faith in Jesus Christ. We are also committed to helping families nurture and raise their children in the Lord.
All of the leaders involved in our Children’s and Youth Ministry are trained in the Anglican Diocese of Sydney’s ‘Safe Ministry’ and have fulfilled the NSW government regulations to obtain a ‘Working with Children Check’.
Below is a summary of our Kid’s Ministries.
For children aged 1 year old to year 6 at School Kids Church GROW stands for the way we live for God:
G= growing in our love of God and others
R= ready to help others know Jesus
O= one with God and one with his family
W= walking with God: reading the Bible and praying
All the adults and children commence the worship service together, then the children leave for Kids’ Church.
(Birth – 12 months) There is a cry room for babies (not walking) where attendants will look after your child. You are welcome to stay in the cry room with your baby where you will be able to see and hear the church service, or you are also welcome to take him/her with you into the church.
(12 months – 3 year olds) In our morning program we have crèche where the children enjoy active play with climbing equipment, ride on toys as well as hands-on learning. Parent helpers are more than welcome to be on the roster.
Pre-schoolers utilise spacious modern rooms and a program developed to stimulate young bodies and minds. Play-based learning in conjunction with activities relating to the day’s Bible story. Our leaders are committed to providing an enriched environment to support each child’s strengths, interests and needs.
Our school aged children meet together in our indoor basketball court each week are taught of God’s love in Christ through song, bible stories, games, prayers and group discussion.
They then move into infants and primary groups for a range of different activities to cater for different learning styles across the term. We believe it is important for children to receive the message of God at a level that will help them to understand the message and discuss questions they have relevant to their age level.
